queercomix
Link added 12/18/02
Founded in 1996, the queercomix mailing list has been a discussion area and "safe space" on the Internet for talk about queer issues in comic books. Anything directly relating to queer concerns in comic books and the comics industry is appropriate for discussion, including in-story and personnel issues. Queer characters, creators, storylines and themes, and even queer-phobic creators, publishers, and/or comic book stories are all discussed regularly by the members.

The queercomix list is not a general-purpose "home base" for queer fans to discuss anything comics related (or even unrelated)—it has a narrower focus, and off-topic discussions are not encouraged. To subscribe send an e-mail to queercomix-subscribe@groups.queernet.org.

WEBCOMICS

Average Gay Guy
Link added 11/8/05
He's not buff, far from it. But where he lacks in looks he makes up in personality! At times he can be bitter, sometimes "queeny", and other times selfish. He loves life and at the end of the day he's happy. He truly is about as average as they come.

"Sometimes political, but always typical, Average Gay Guy is someone we all know!"

Boobs Ahoy!
Link added 6/29/06
"Boobs Ahoy!, a newer webcomic created by Chloe Matthews and Lynn McKeown, depicts the swashbuckling adventures of Wilhelm and Clover, two lesbian pirates on the hunt for women and treasure and…more women.

As the title indicates, Boobs Ahoy! is full of silly, sexy fun; its opening page warns it might not be suitable for those under 18. With all the nudity and sexual content, Matthews has said that one of her main concerns about putting the comic online was that the wrong audience would find it, and enjoy it for the wrong reasons. 'I'd hate the idea that I had a part in something that only objectified lesbians,' Matthews said."

Boy Meets Boy

Boy Sluts of America

Here you'll find sketches and artwork from the comic, links to comic books, and even a Trading Post where you can buy your Official Boy Sluts uniform and gear.

Link added 8/22/07
Skippy has been referred to as the "straight" man for a world of stereo-typical characters in the gay community. He lives in a strange city with stranger people (particularly his roommate, Mattie), but he loves trying to figure them out. Not to mention his ex-boyfriend, Frobert, and the guy who lives in his bathroom and eats cookies.

The Bohemians
Link added 4/11/06
The Bohemians is a weekly (and sometimes more) comic by Spain Fischer about Ethan, Travis, and Ally—three starving artists in New York City.

The main theme is Bohemianism, which is the philosphy of life that you need to live for your art and for love, throwing materialistic things out the window. It's a hard life, but somehow our bohemian friends live through it.

Starvation, AIDS, heartbreak, and the rest of the shit one finds in the slums of New York.

The Gay Monsters
Link added 1/25/07
Xander is a bartender at the Underworld's hottest gay bar, but he secretly pines for the love of a living man. Hilarity ensues as his fellow fiends tirelessly set him up with other gay monsters while they struggle to understand his obsession with a living man.

A flash-animated webcomic by Andy Bauer.

Venus Envy
Link added 8/14/03
Erin Lindsey says her webcomic Venus Envy is basically her way of:

A) Filling a major gap in the online comic community (I mean, let's face it, you've got three dozen comics about lesbians, a hundred and four about clumsy white males, six about talking ferrets, and eight with dead people, but only two other TS comics that I've managed to find), and

B) Working through a lot of the stress and insanity that comes from my life. In a sense, I guess this is therapy (and a lot cheaper, too). I have it up here, online, to try and make people laugh as well as show some people that a transsexual man or woman is no different from any other man and woman and try and make the concept a little less alien to all.

Why Me?
Link added 6/29/06
Dee's had it. She's got a lousy job, no girlfriend, and a mad scientist of a roommate who's always late with the rent. Then things go from bad to worse when her fairy godmother shows up to make sure she lives happily ever...

Young Bottoms in Love
Link added 8/14/03
Tim Fish's gay romance comics are posted daily (Monday through Friday) on PopImage.com. The 5-page story arcs range from silly to serious, from soap to sci-fi, and feature guest creators as well.

YU+ME
Link added 6/29/06
"YU+ME by Megan Gedris tells the story Fiona, an awkward high school girl, made an outcast by her classmates, harassed by her stepmother, and struggling with her mad crush on the extremely cute new girl next door. Gedris has developed a distinctive style for her comic that alternates between lush, detailed, anime-style drawings of her characters and quick, more cartoonish sketches, using the difference to convey shifts in tone and emotional states."
